Galactica... my Battlestar
"if you wanna go and take a ride wit mewe're 3-wheelin in the 4 with the gold d's
oh why do i live this way
(hey!) (must be the money!)", Nelly - Ride With Me
Now into its 3rd season, 4th episode. There are only few words worthy of describing this masterwork, and one of them I can think of now is, epic.
The last time I felt similar (but in no way matching) perturbation was from LoTR (and maybe The Goblet of Fire, just a tad). However, unlike LoTR, which at times just feel like the same droning (but pretty) sand bag that keeps pounding on your head, BSG offers a Pollock of intertwined mess; when you take a step back, it looks so grittily grippingly pretty that you just want to rip open your chest and let your heart explode. Or sacrifice a virgin.
One of the unfortunate facts is the general public's reaction to the word "sci-fi", a reaction that almost rivals those to "made in China" or "American". A more unfortunate fact is, these people are usually the first one who went see the Hollywood LoTR when it came out. "OMG! those elves are the Roxorr!" (dramatization). And when you were ahead of the game, reading the actual masterpiece in its original paper form, they wash their eyes after seeing you to get rid of the nerdness.
People are sheeps?
since we have already side-tracked, here is a nice list of definition for the word "teenybopper"... a term from the awsome generation called X.
there is a teenybopper in all of us. dont let it grow.
